“ Along The breakwater “( ENH Music 2005)
V1
Man-made barriers defend this historic rock….
Arriving late to catch a sunset…
Up against the ….speaking clock.
V2
Friendly chap arrives with sea fishing gear,
I capture his first cast,
I’m sure it wont be his last.
Chorus
And as the waves crash down upon this tiny isle
She turns to me to offer but a smile
We pass the driftwood stick been travelling for miles,
And up the coastal road where the sun forever shines.
V3
Student ice-cream seller yawns a long day.
Staying on for last light.
He’ll sleep…… well tonight.
Mid 8
And the bars are now closed on this wonderful coast
And the people are leaving for home
The last one to leave wears his heart on his sleeve
An Englishman needing to roam
Chorus
And as the waves crash down upon this tiny isle
She turns to me to offer but a smile
We pass the driftwood stick been travelling for miles,
And up the coastal road where the sun forever shines.
